Raising the turbine in Tuba

We have installed wind and solar power to provide energy to about 500 people. Total installed capacity is more than 60 kWh a day. This allows the people to use light, refrigerators, butter churns, TV, computers and phone chargers.
We have been working in Mrier al Abid, Esfai foque, Esfai Tacht, Tuba and Umm al Kheir.
The project was funded by the
German Foreign Office
through
Medico International.

We have installed two 1KW home brewed wind turbines that were made by COMET-ME team and two small 350W turbines purchased from our friends at
SuperWind.
They had been very generous and contributed a third wind turbine for future projects.

During the 6 months of work we enjoyed the dedicated support of 15 students from Hebron. These students participate in a 1 year program run by the Hebron vocational training center and our friend Issa Amro, who is a long time activist in Hebron, is the instructor of the program. He brought the students as part of their training. All of them helped in laying down the 220 VAC mini-grid and the solar and wind turbines. As part of the project we ran a one day workshop on solar energy in their school in Hebron.
