Summer of 2008:
Renewable electrification of Susya, Palestine
Using a donation from the Swiss olive oil campaign we installed basic systems for the families of Susya.
We installed 20 systems in the community of Susya thus practically providing the families with basic home energy services. This was made possible with the kind donation of the Olive Oil Campaign of Switzerland, to the sum of 25,000$, and the joint work of both members of the community as well as volunteers from the activist community. These are solar only systems, but are all modular and have the capability to expand with time. The members of the local community have actively participated in all the planning activity, the installation of the systems and their maintenance.
